When I first started reviewing books on autism, some twenty years ago, there were not many to choose. This was both to help children understand the various characteristics and and challenges that people on the autism spectrum face (for example of teachers or siblings of children with autism) but also because I wanted a list of books for children with autism, so that they could see themselves in stories, see stories written from the perspective of an autistic child and see children's books with I personally used this book while working in the general education with my students.
